Animation

Animation is a great way to explain a product or service in ways you couldn’t with a live shoot, to sell your product in a different way, or to get safety information across clearly. Once the assets exist they can be reused across different media, in store, online, in print and in outdoor advertising.

Hampson Hughes

Agency: Global

In an otherwise black and white world, the team at Hampson Hughes bring colour back to the lives of people who have suffered a personal injury. Animated in a modern 2D style, the characters and the city they live in were created from scratch and designed around the Hampson Hughes corporate colours. The advert features a cover of Aretha Franklin’s “Think”, licensed through Global.

Motor Depot: Smart Drive

Agency: PAB Studios

Motor Depot had already advertised Smart Drive in several ways and felt a fresh approach using animation would be a great way to promote it. The finished advert is fun and informative, and the animated assets were reused in store, online and in outdoor advertising, so the whole campaign had one consistent look.

AirFair: Flightless Birds

AirFair had been on TV for some time with a straightforward, no-frills message. It had worked, but a new approach was needed to keep the campaign fresh. Combining 2D character animation with a bespoke track, the flightless birds proved very popular, and the assets were reused online and in outdoor advertising, so the campaign was memorable, fun and had a solid message at its core.

Days Motorpark

Agency: Sticky Ideas & Advertising

Days Motorpark isn’t an ordinary car dealership: a herd of life-size dinosaur models lives at every one of their six sites. So when it came to TV, the creative team at Sticky Ideas & Advertising made dinosaur characters the stars of the show. Each advert focuses on a different big benefit of buying from Days, told through the heavily accented voices and expressive movements of our plasticine friends.

Arbeia Roman Fort

Two thousand years ago Arbeia guarded a Roman port at the mouth of the Tyne, and it’s only in the last forty years that archaeologists and local people have uncovered its story. A mix of interviews, animation and archive footage brings those findings to life, and the finished video plays on site to thousands of visitors every year.

Motor Depot: Pop-up Book

Agency: PAB Studios

Motor Depot is a leading used car supermarket that makes buying a car easy. In fact, you could say it’s child’s play. To show that simplicity we came up with a pop-up book style animation that walks through the key points of the dealership, with a price-led offer section we could update on the fly as new cars came into stock.

NHS

Agency: SD Advertising

Every winter, extra strain lands on A&E departments across the country, and some of it is avoidable. This TV advert was a reminder of that. Using existing assets from the client and a ‘guess who’ style graphic effect created by our in-house designers, the message lands in a relaxed but informative way.

AirFair: Flight Delays

A change in the law meant anyone whose flight was delayed by more than three hours could now claim a refund. To get the word out and encourage people to claim, AirFair needed a TV advert that explained it simply and quickly through clear animation. The icon-led animation, with a professional voiceover, was broadcast on Sky AdSmart.

Queen Alexandra Sixth Form

Queen Alexandra Sixth Form wanted a bold TV advert that was completely different from what people expect of a school or college promo. A striking animation style, bold messaging and an electric track made it stand out from its first broadcast, and it landed with exactly the audience they were after.

Dalton Park

Agency: SD Advertising

Dalton Park is the biggest outlet and discount shopping centre in the North East. Having advertised on TV since launch, they wanted a fresh feel that reflected the centre’s setting among parkland trails. To tie in with their outdoor and print campaign we worked closely with Dalton Park’s design agency, matching the look and bringing it to life with smooth motion graphics.

Livingston Designer Outlet

Keeping shoppers safe during the pandemic was the priority for Livingston Designer Outlet, and the effort they put in meant they could stay open and keep offering a special shopping experience. Using animation and imagery with a stylish voiceover and music bed, the ‘Safe but still special’ message welcomed customers back while gently encouraging them to visit at quieter times.

Gradwell

Agency: Forward & Thinking

Gradwell are business communications experts, providing VoIP, broadband, fibre and cloud products to businesses across the UK. For their first TV advert we developed a concept that looked great without breaking the bank, combining pre-made graphics with custom animation for a clean, stylish production that shows exactly what they offer.
